Frequently Asked Fitness Centre Questions
We hope not. We have worked hard to create an environment that is comfortable for everyone. Do I have to be fit to join? Definitely not! In fact being unfit is the main reason people join us! Sure there are a few well tuned athletes here, but most people come in looking for some help to get fit!So don't let being unfit stop you. What clothing should I wear? Comfortable lose clothing is ideal plus you will need closed in shoes (runners are great!) and a towel. We recommend a water bottle too (it should have water in it and we have plenty of filtered water at the centre) What age groups use the centre? Our members range in age from 14 to 82! There is an even mix of men and women at Beach House Maroochydore and every fitness level you might imagine. What is Results Based Training? You may know it as Personal Training! We prefer to focus on the outcome so that's why we call it Results Based Training. When you first get started with us you will meet withone of our trainers who can discuss options for Results Based Training for you. Yes it is an extra service, not covered in your membership but well worth the extra investment if you want to fast track your results! There is more information hereResults Based Training I have never been in a fitness centre before: where do I start? We will set you up to meet with one of our trainers when you first start here. This session will be to discuss your goals. From this meeting, your trainer will put together a program for you and will then take you through this so you know exactly what to do when you come into the centre. If you want further supervision, you can attend any of the Group Fitness classes, Boot Camp or Results Based Training. What if I don't know what to do; will someone help me when I start? Of course! We have at least two trainers here all the time plus our staff is always ready to help. Please ask! When is the best time to train at BHFCM? Like most centres world wide, evenings are the busiest. And most people get the “guilts” on Monday after the weekend so this is our peak night. But we have great members at the centre and they will “work in” with you so no-one has to wait! Of course if you work shifts or have flexibility in your day then the lunch hour is the quietest time (It's when the staff do their workouts!) Last time I joined a gym, no-one seemed interested in me. What happens if I lose motivation at BHFCM? In the past I give up the health kick thing after a month, how can you change this? We won't let that happen this time. Deciding to change the way you see yourself, and making your health a top priority requires commitment. We will fully support this decision. Beach House Maroochydore will be as committed as you and on the days if your commitment falters we'll be here. After all we'd like to see you stay with us in the long term as well as helping you reach your initial goals. We'll also be in touch if we don't see you here. And remember, we know where you live so you can't hide!
Yes you will. You're not obliged to be “outgoing” to be a member. Everyone is different and we respect your right to be you! Our reception team (and all the staff) will remember your name so there will always be someone here who you can consider a friend! Are there extras to pay for, once I've joined Beach House Maroochydore? Not unless you want to take up Results Based Training or Boot Camp to get faster results. And this is a good idea! We encourage everyone who wants faster results to consider this option. But there is no obligation to do so! Can I bring a guest with me to Beach House Maroochydore? You're welcome to bring a guest to the centre to try it out. Training with a friend has been shown to significantly improve results for both people, so feel free to bring your friends with you! This is a good way to see if you will be comfortable at Beach House Maroochydore. All your friend needs to do is register with us at Reception to use the centre. Can I place my membership on hold? Yes! Everyone needs a break now and then and we encourage you to take one! Our Way of Life Memberships can be placed on hold for up to 8 weeks in any 12 month period. How do I pay for my Beach House Maroochydore membership? Most of our clients are happy to take care of their memberships from either their bank account or credit card each fortnight.
